Ceremonies

A ceremony is an intentional time to acknowledge and move through something we are dealing with, often a change or transition in our life. A ceremony will include rituals, which are actions that help us to create meaning. A ritual can be as simple as taking three deep breaths, or it can be more complex. Ritual and ceremony don't have to be connected with any religion or spiritual belief.

Our ancestors, no matter where they came from on Earth, used ceremony to mark important rites of passage, and to hold space for the little things in life as well. For many of us, this ceremonial way of moving through life has long been dormant, but it still lives in our hearts and in our bones. We've kept some of the traditional ceremonies like graduations, weddings and funerals, but there is more that deserves to be held, grieved, and celebrated in this life.

I have been using ceremony in my life and in my work for the past five years. I have held space for many people, individually and in groups, as they moved through times of change, grief, and transition in their lives. It is such a powerful way for us to get in touch with our emotions, to truly acknowledge what we are going through, and to hold space for ourselves and for others.

In the spirit of decolonization, I do not use any rituals or practices that have not been shared with me, or that do not come from my mixed European heritage. I am very grateful to those who have gifted their learnings and practices with me, and for the many wonderful folks out there who are working to bring back a ceremonial way of living in a culturally safe way. (Check out my friends at 'be ceremonial'!)

If you are curious to explore how ceremony could help you to move through something in your life, or if you have any questions, you can reach out through my contact page, or the button below. (P.S. If your question is, "Can we hold a ceremony for..." the answer is most likely YES!)

"Katrina has a generous, gentle spirit. In our release session, Katrina listened and offered wise words to help me process and let go. After our session, I felt a noticeable increase in my energy and a reconnection to my source of creativity and intuition. I highly recommend Katrina. She is an expert in showing up and holding space in a kind, compassionate, non-judgemental way."
-Miranda K, Vancouver

"I recently was a part of a Mother’s Blessing/Healing circle, and it really helped to turn down the volume of the craziness in this chapter of life as I adjust to this new role! Also reignited my passion to connect with the divine energies that surround me everyday."
-Kenzie, Chilliwack

"As a participant [in a ceremony], I left feeling full and acknowledged... It was so beautiful to be held and seen by Katrina, in a group of other amazing folks navigating their own path. Katrina chose the perfect soundtrack for this ceremony and led us with ease and confidence. The tangible parts of the ceremony were so beautiful and the metaphoric parts were very powerful. We showed up bravely and left even braver thanks to Katrina."
-Grace, Chilliwack
